I'm sure we've all faced this problem a time or two, so I'm hoping that someone who loves logic could help me solve it.
I have a list of 9 songs, and I need to pick one to sing next weekend. The occasion is at convention, we do this thing called Tabs idol. The objective is to have fun, so I need to do something that I will have fun with. I also want to do something that will motivate the rest of the participants to join in the fun. So I have come up with a list of songs that I would feel comfortable singing, each has its advantage and disadvantage. I'm going to describe each of them to you, and you help me decide which one I should do.
Song 1: This song is upbeat, and it's got a rock style to it. It's a popular Spanish song, and it's got some feeling to it. i don't like the singer's voice, but it's for fun, anyway. Not too comfortable with all the words though I'm getting there.
Song 2: This song is also upbeat. It's got a weird singer, but it's a cool song! It's got a sort of dance beat, and it's fun for me, but it's got a rap part, and I don't like the idea of rapping to it, though I've been doing the part for years, so I may feel comfortable doing it.
Song 3: This is more my type of stuff, but noone will know the song. Advantage is, it's quick, easy, and I've got it down. it's a cumbia.
Song 4: This one's been requested. It's one of my favorite groups, but it's got some style to it I don't feel too comfortable with. it's also a little long, but not too bad.
Song 5: This one's a bit more depressing and it's also got a bit of a rap part to it. I like it though, but it isn't as upbeat as the others.
Song 6: This one's my song! But I'm quite sure it'll scare the people away in half a second! Lol! Love the song, but am embarrassed to sing it! Very upbeat, but I'm sure it'll be much different than anything anyone else would sing.
Song 7: English song, depressing, slow, and I don't have the voice for it. But I'm sure everyone knows the song and it expresses my feelings.
Song 8: This one is also an English song, a rock style with a bit of guitar, an oldie. The kind of thing I might like to do, but I'm not real comfortable with it. However, it can be improved.
Song 9: This one represents an aspect of my past. I like it, and feel sort of comfortable with it, but it's not the style of song that would be attractive. It's nice and upbeat, but it's not as familiar to the crowd.
I could work on all of these, and they will all be on a cd even though I only pick one.
Any feedback?
Lol I hope this isn't too confusing! And I don't mention the titles as you guys may not know the songs, a majority are Spanish since that's what I perfer to sing.
Any suggestions as to how I should go about choosing one?
